I vote Iosevka, but we can establish the design language once we’ve settled on a logo and colour scheme.

i think that using a rounded/friendly font that’s either sans or serif (or mono?) would fit in with the sort of cuddly aesthetic people seem to like here.

i can help hand-kern letters to make them look real nice once we decide on a font.

I feel like bold versions of Ubuntu Font may also be a nice option… Though it’s a font heavily associated with another linux-based OS and it may be suboptimal

wondering if Fira Sans would work

it’s a good option though, but you’re right that the association would be suboptimal

Can you share the original SVG?

hey @jakehamilton could you enable SVG uploads on this server? that would make sharing work here way easier

Some editors renderers do not like the translation you did:

I fixed that by recreating the head, stripped the inkscape stuff and also miniatured your SVG bit. Now it fits under 500 bytes

the SVG i shared was an inkscape-editable SVG, i’ll send you the regular svg

I really like this design, feels not too cluttered but also very different, a couple of previous just face iterations looked a little godot-esque.

The one I exported seems to be way smaller than Inkscape export, may you give it a try?

hmm you’re right, i think part of it is inkscape’s lack of “real” minification strategies. i think inkscape’s optimized option is just regular svg export minus whitespace - i think i would be pretty pissed if inkscape did that sort of “intrusive” minification behind my back, but idk.

Would it be okay if I turned this into a wallpaper?

I just wanted to chime in to say that there’s lots of amazing art and concepts here.

You’re gonna make me run out of hearts to give. (The other day I discovered it was a thing).

It’s making me choose difficult but as there are a lot of things to create art for and not just the main one I will rest assured. I hope I end up seeing all my favorite options in some place or another.

Here the source SVG for the coloured one
