We should try to opt for more minimalism. Try shortening it to just X. And then we could turn it into The Everything App :tm:

X is for wuses. We should shorten it to just non-breaking space.

Too long. Replace the non-breaking space with a hypothetical implication of the theoretical existence of an entirely impercievable, modern, and trendy brand name

Wow awesome! We can use an ontological argument to prove it exists, and not even have to write it

 ? you’re wasting a lot of space, just use ;

actually, wait a minute, just make it a zero-width join. that’ll really save space!

I would heavily advise against Auxolotl as a name. Axo.dev is a very popular tool in the Rust community, and due to the big overlap of the Rust and Nix community, choosing a name that similar seems slightly disrespectful. Next to that concern, misspelling based names are generally very hard to talk about outside of text, and will frequently be changed back by autocorrect.
I think Aux itself is a very nice name. Three letter names ending in “x” seems to be the emergent pattern of Nix related projects (see Lix).

Yes, it does. (Posting in a code block due to Discourse’s spam filter.)

I’m sorry, but this is not realistic in the slightest. The project’s website will not and cannot be the be-all and end-all for every single thing you may ever want to look up about it.

I don’t like the name Aux too. I propose “Sano” which means small in Nepali language. It’s very easy to pronounce for me and since i do not know about others i am proposing to consider this if it’s good.

“Sanu” is also pronounced colloquially or “Syanu” if you want to be cute about it. Ditching anything with ‘x’ should be considered. Lix too isn’t something i like, atleast how i pronounce it it sounds exactly like licks.

Worth noting that this pronunciation is entirely intentional.

“sano” is Italian for “healthy” or “digestible”, overall not a bad choice. But tbh. I also like “Aux” very much (for some biographical reason).

A downside with “sano”: Possible confusion with SANOS kernel or the SANE project

Since everyone’s saying their opinion: I don’t really have anything to add, but I like the name Aux!

And in Esperanto in means «health» (the noun corresponding to the adjective «healthy», which in Esperanto is «sana».) :slight_smile:
